Project Overview

Happivale Social Club, a much loved community hub with a long history of serving its local community, needed a full survey to assess the condition of the premises and identify areas of repair.

Third Sector Surveying

We surveyed this local community centre to report on the condition and repairs required. We included identification of any outstanding statutory compliance issues and a schedule of planned maintenance to fit our client’s annual budgets.

Planned Maintenance Report

Our report was supported by annotated photographs so our findings were clear and easy to follow. The planned maintenance report was presented in a format for client budgeting purposes and as a summary of works for a contractor to follow.

Challenges

One of the challenges we faced was balancing the amount of repairs needed with the clubs budget. To overcome this we prioritised the most critical repairs in the planned maintenance schedule and spread the less urgent tasks over a longer period. This meant the community centre remained safe and operational and the client could manage their resources.

Recommendations

Another challenge was making sure the community centre was compliant with all statutory regulations. During our survey we found several areas of the building that needed to be brought up to current standards. We provided clear recommendations and guidance on how to rectify these compliance issues so the client could avoid potential legal and safety risks.

Robust Plan in Place

Happivale Social Club now has a plan in place to keep the centre going for years to come. We’ve not only fixed the immediate issues but laid the foundations for the long term maintenance of this much loved local hub.
